Birds!!! Lots of birds. Pic 2 is old lock that we stayed at last night. Boy was it dark out there. Untied from wall around 7:15 and got a major shock when we got to first lock on the St. Lawrence. $30.00 to go through each lock plus pleasure boats are not considered importance so when they can get you in to the lock, they will. Commercial traffic is first. They can pay up to $25,000 to lock though each lock (pic 3). You have to tie off, call the lock master on a phone at a booth and you can pay with a credit card there or the lock master when you get in the lock. We only got enough fuel to get us to some other place that was a little less. Found some on the US side at an Indian Reservation. Went on to Coteau Quebec and stayed at an old lock. First time we have paid for a night since we left. They did not speak English but they know how to tell you how much. Went through three locks today. So today we spent almost $600.00.
