5:30 a.m. start. More like it! Left Bel Haven and heading to Elizabeth City on the Great Disimal Swamp - 85 miles. Cruising included large sounds & rivers with rough waters, 3-5ft waves but also some narrows and canals which gave us some smooth water too. Arrived in Elizabeth City, N.C.(AKA: City of Hospitality) to a welcome party put on by the city "Rose Buddies". Free wine, beer and cheese along with a welcome by the locals plus free dockage. Note: Think there was a Rose Buddy waiting there to give them a kiss on the cheek and say "welcome sailor boys"?
After supper we walked around the historic district and found a place for a beer with great live music.
