6-28-10 Monday

Left Bufford at 8:30 and headed to Charleston, S.C. Take a good long look at the house in the back ground. This shows a good example of how much marsh land there is here. The pier runs all the way back to the house. It is all marsh from the blue water almost to the house. All of the properties are like this. You need a golf cart to get to your boat. Today was clear sailing. We arrived in Charleston at 4:30 and stayed at Charleston Maritime Center. There was an Ocean Alexander traveling with us and he was in the same marina as us for the night so he invited us over to see his yacht. It was a 2010, 50' for $1,650,000.00. He was the captain of it and was taking it to a dealer somewhere up north. Three frigs and freezers on board. Really nice but not what I would want. Jeff's brother Jay and his wife are here visiting her brother so we will get with them tomorrow to go sightseeing. Guess what happened tonight.....yep, another storm. We are setting near the Limeway bridge. the largest cable bridge in North America and the bolts of lightening are right behind it. An awesome sight.

6-27-10 Sunday

We left Thunderbolt at 8:30 and arrived at Bufford, S.C. around 1:45. A storm hit right after we tied off so we did not head into town until all was dry. We walked around and looked at all the hugh old homes. I just love them. Gotta keep playing the lottery so I can have one of those there plantations. Stopped in a small bar and had supper.
This is a picture of the sunset just before a big storm hit again. The water really did look red that night. The waves were up over the swim platform. Getting use to these storms. Somewhere we lost a cover to one of our seats on the flybridge. Just one more thing to spend money on. We had some maintenance done on the boat while she was in Savannah. We got away with a $3,000 bill. Not included in the $450 per month we paid for three months. We did not even get a free koozie after all of this. So, the cost of a cover is minor.

6-26-10 Saturday

We headed in to Savannah to walk the old section of town. This was a head stone in an old cemetery. It dates back to the 1700's. I wonder if that tree was put there later on purpose. The stone looks kind of lonely. There was one that said the dude was shot in a dual. He was in his early 20's. We went through an old home that had round rooms, fake doors put in to balance rooms, windows on the interior walls and the guest and children's wash area in the basement. Beautiful home but a little different. There was an old Catholic church that had the prettiest stain windows that I have seen. We walked for about 4 hours and the Captain was more than ready to get back on board. We are heading out tomorrow morning. Another storm went thought tonight. They always show up at sunset. How nice! Heat index was 107-110. A little warm.

6-25-10 Friday

This is the marina next to us. Annie Lee is really in Thunderbolt, GA which is next door to Savannah. I wanted everyone to see what a marina looks like that charges $20.00 for a pump out.
We did a few things aound the boat today and went in to Savannah to "River Walk". This is a tourist area with shops and restaurants along the Savannah River. We had supper there and watched the hugh ships coming in with lots and lots of containers on them. Glad we were not in the water with them. We would be ant size next to them. A rain picked up while we ate. After we got back to the boat, it stormed a while. Think we will stay one more day and go sight seeing. Who knows when we will see.

6-24-10 Thursday

We are back! Yep, Annie Lee III is back in the water and will be on the move soon. We arrived back on the boat around 3:00 this morning. The beds were stripped so I found a sheet, threw it on and said the bed is made, good night. Spent today unpacking, putting everything else back in place and getting supplies. We went to a Wal-Mart and found that to be a joke. It was a regular Wal-mart, no "super". We picked up things that were not groceries, went to the check out and I guess because I had my own bags, we had to pack them ourselves. Then went to Publix, they were closing early and ended up at Piggly-Wiggly. I hate going to a store that I am not familiar with. Frizz (cat) is traveling with us this leg and she is still getting her sea legs. Finally got everything put up and done around 10:00 p.m.
Anyone that can tell me what this is gets a big "atta boy/girl". It was by our marina.
