Yep, that's Annie Lee on the sling. Captain Jeff and First Mate Heather made it to Savannah Georgia. They left Riviera Beach on the 24th and made it to Savannah by noon on the 30th. They made great time and spent some good old fashion father/daughter time together. My brother picked me up at Riviera Beach on the 25th, we drove all night (18 hours) to make it home in time for the freak ice and snow. Had to walk up my drive because of a tree across it. Got back to work on Monday and headed out Tuesday morning at 5:00 a.m. (see, I can get up before the sun!) to pick them up. Took 14 hours to get there. We then loaded all of our food, clothes, blankets, pillow, sheets, towels and anything else that was cloth, into the car. Kind of like spring cleaning. There was just enough room for the three of us and no more. I had already taken one load with me when I left the first time. We had to do this to keep everything from mildewing. Then Jeff had to run fresh water through the system, drain the water tanks and run fresh water through the heads. While she is out they will clean the bottom, touch up the paint, do some preventative maintenance on it and keep her safe until we get back in July. I think the Captain kissed her good by a few times. I even think there might have been a tear in his eye when we pulled off the lot and left her there with strangers. After just a few days home, the Captain is ready to get back on the boat and start heading north to the Chesapeake Bay but the first mate is glad to be home again. We will sign off for now and return the first week of July. Have a wonderful spring.
